Placencia Yacht Charters is an American Sailing affiliate school offering private ASA 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106 and 114 instruction. Courses can be shaped around your experience, your group and the yacht beneath you.
Certification is earned through the applicable teaching and assessment requirements; it is never automatic simply because you charter.

Billy Jones
Billy’s sailing life spans offshore racing, bareboat cruising, youth instruction, Sea Scouts leadership and long coastal deliveries. His approach is practical: understand the boat, read what is happening around you and make good decisions with confidence.
A USCG-licensed captain and lifelong sailor, Billy is certified to teach ASA 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106 and 114. He leads the school alongside Amanda’s decades of sailing and instruction experience.
