Amanda built Placencia Yacht Charters around excellent boats, serious seamanship and warm Belizean hospitality. Elvis leads the captain team on the water, while Billy leads the school’s American Sailing instruction.

Amanda Haley
Amanda brings more than 30 years of sailing experience across international vessel deliveries, sailing instruction, yacht brokerage, charter operations and business ownership.
Her relationship with Belize began during a delivery aboard a 53-foot Swan. A stop in Placencia—and one unforgettable sunset—eventually grew into Placencia Yacht Charters.
Today she brings the same sailor’s perspective to every charter: excellent boats, experienced people, serious safety standards and an experience guests remember long after they step ashore.

Elvis Linarez
With more than 17 years in maritime operations, Elvis brings proven navigation, safety management and guest service in Belizean and international waters. His local judgement and easy hospitality make him the main captain guests can trust from departure to the final line ashore.

Billy Jones
Billy went to Kings Point to play football in the summer of 1993. After the first team meeting, he went down to the waterfront—and never turned back.
He immersed himself in sailing, racing and teaching. In 1996 he crewed the Newport to Bermuda Regatta, helping win the all-academy trophy, and later skippered a custom C&C 40 to multiple podium finishes and line honors.
Family brought him back to sailing around 2014 with our first bareboat charter in Belize in 2016. Since then, Billy has raced with his sons, bareboat-chartered with his wife Laura, led Sea Scouts on adventurous voyages from Newport to Grenada and completed deliveries along the East Coast—including a nonstop St Martin to Brunswick passage.
He earned his USCG captain’s license in 2025 and continues looking for every good reason to trade office life for time on the water.
