Unveiling paradise
A captained yacht charter from Placencia is a private doorway to clear water, coral reefs and island anchorages. The routes below are samples, designed to show what a week might hold rather than prescribe a fixed schedule.
Weather, sea conditions, guest interests and local guidance always shape the real voyage. Amanda and your captain will tailor each charter around the people aboard.
The Southern Barrier Reef Expedition
- Day 1 — Placencia to South Water Caye: settle aboard, sail out and snorkel from the yacht.
- Day 2 — South Water Caye to Tobacco Caye: reef time and a relaxed island afternoon.
- Day 3 — Tobacco Caye to Man-O-War Caye: birdlife, marine life and quiet water.
- Day 4 — Man-O-War Caye to Ranguana Caye: swimming, beach time and an unhurried evening.
- Day 5 — Ranguana Caye toward Placencia: choose lagoon scenery or a possible Monkey River experience.
- Day 6 — Placencia: explore the village, beaches, artisans and local food.
- Day 7 — Departure: one last Belize morning before disembarkation.
The Outer Cayes & Culinary Delights
- Day 1 — Placencia to the Sapodilla Cayes: a longer sail toward reef and clear water.
- Day 2 — Sapodilla Cayes to Ranguana: snorkelling, fishing and a sundowner ashore when conditions allow.
- Day 3 — Ranguana to Pumpkin Caye: a quieter stop for the water and the day’s catch.
- Day 4 — Pumpkin Caye to Ray Caye: reef time and the option of visiting ashore.
- Day 5 — Ray Caye to Mojo Caye: a beach, a swim and a private meal prepared by the crew.
- Day 6 — Mojo Caye onward: follow the weather and your captain’s local recommendation.
- Day 7 — Return to Placencia: a final swim or sail before coming home.
The Atoll Adventure
These routes are inspiration only. Distances, permits, protected areas, weather and available services must be confirmed by Amanda and the captain for each charter.
- Day 1 — Depart Placencia for a secluded overnight anchorage.
- Day 2 — Continue through the cayes, stopping where the conditions feel right.
- Day 3 — South Water Caye: snorkelling, diving or fishing in the southern reef system.
- Days 4–5 — Glover’s Reef Atoll: an ambitious weather-dependent passage for remote reef exploration.
- Day 6 — Return through the inner cayes with another quiet anchorage.
- Day 7 — Sail back to Placencia.
